Summary: Hanuman shows up to take Sita out for one of their regular dinners.

Sitting on the bench outside her building, Hanuman stretched his legs out in front of him and leaned back on braced arms as he looked up at the sky. For a few moments, he contemplated the clouds, translating their shapes in his head. Then he counted them. Then he sang through the lyrics of the last song he heard before leaving the house. In his head, of course.

With all of that done, he was left still waiting and he sighed. Lifting his head, he squinted towards the front door again.

"Hmm," she said. "Themed. Color themed. If I said green, yellow, and red, where would we go?"

She shook her head and smiled. "No, walking's good." It was a nice evening, after all, and it was probably good for her to stretch her legs doing something other than walking between her lab and the stock room.

She grinned and took the offered arm without hesitation. The past couple weeks had been...weird and were something that she hadn't thought a lot about as well as something that she didn't want to think a lot about. Which was why Hanuman was great. He always seemed genuinely happy, and that was the best distraction she'd come across so far.

The thought startled a laugh out of her. In a lot of ways, Sita still operated under the idea that everyone saw the world exactly the way she saw it. She knew she wasn't on a date with Hanuman and so she sort of assumed everyone else did too. Which obviously wasn't true, now that she thought about it.

As she was thinking all this, a thought flashed briefly through her head that she could make some flippant comment about Rama. She tamped that down almost immediately. Usually she was good at not thinking about Rama, not thinking about why she hadn't met him in this life. Everything with the fairies had changed that resolve a little bit, and she didn't like it.

She tamped all that down and smiled at Hanuman. "If they only knew the truth."

"Oh don't say that," she interjected. Hanuman meant way more to her than a "pet monkey," especially at this point. She knew he was joking, but still.

The menu, though, was also distracting. "Yes, let's get an appetizer or two. Spring rolls?"

"Too sweet for today, I think," she said. "Besides, I'm probably getting something with peanut sauce and that's already on the sweet side."
