[Gloss]

Gawain briefly explained to Ariadne how he classified things: in broad categories, as at a chain bookstore. They toured the alcoves in the store, perusing his commendable selection. As the evening wore on, they found themselves gradually becoming more intimate: a playful pat here, a reassuring stroke there, bodies moving closer and closer.

At last the passion they had felt simmering all day reached the next level, and they found themselves gently undressing one another in Gawain's apartment upstairs. Reveling in their nakedness, they showered each other with kisses and strokes for quite some time before progressing to more intense lovemaking. By the time they finished a few hours later, they laughed at the variety of techniques, positions, and venues (on the floor, on the bed, and in the shower) their lovemaking had encompassed within a single evening! They fell asleep in each other's arms.

The next day, a Saturday afternoon, Gawain took Ariadne on a tour of some of the city's other attractions, including a trip to the Super Fair and lunch at a Greek restaurant called The Parthenon, which seemed only appropriate. Later in the day, the weather took a turn for the worse, with nearly horizontal rainfall and hurricane-force winds. Back at the apartment, Gawain made a hasty (but tasty) meal of pasta and salad for Ariadne, and they repaired to the safety of his living room area. They spoke of many things, including the godling game idea and Gawain's very real quest for the Grail. Darius, frightened by the loud storm, joined them on the sofa, and eventually lulled them to sleep with his purring.

Ariadne departed the next day, thus concluding a most delightful weekend. While driving home from the airport, a beaming Gawain reflected on the past few days' activities and took joy in being a knight for such a lovely princess.
