She wouldn't look at him, and that just wouldn't do. He stood behind her, still tall no matter how much he attempted to be less intense. His height, his presence, it all presented a very different picture.

He reached out to pull her hair from her face, a much gentler touch than she was used to, nothing like the abrasive shark he'd been Saturday night. While her heartbeat continued to beat wildly, he could feel it in her pulse, his was steady.

"Mind somewhere else?" he asked in a hum, not taunting, not teasing.
