She heard his voice and ducked back around the side of the house. She had to suppress a giggle that bubbled up in her throat. Though her goal here involved being seen by him, she didn't want to startle the children. She especially wanted to avoid the boy. And not because she thought she might scare him.
Her wings extended and she flew quickly and quietly up, her feet alighting on the roof lightly. She ducked low, crawling into long shadows cast by the sinking sun.
