Poseidon had always been raw power. Restless. Unpredictable. Untameable. It was why Aphrodite favored him, more so than either of his brothers. Hades was as cold and somber as death--no wonder he favored the Underworld. Certainly Zeus had power and temper, but like the thunderbolt he carried, it was bright, shiny and finished in a flash. No, she preferred the more subtle majesty of the lord of the seas, eternal but never constant. And surely it wasn't just bias since she had come from the sea herself.
