Summary: Melody walks to the newsstand.
Melpomene was feeling pretty good as she headed down the sidewalk towards the local newsstand. She was in the mood for something light to read, or maybe a word-game book; she didn't feel like dealing with anything heavier, and the stupidity of daytime television was right out. Besides, it was a nice morning, and she wanted a breath of fresh air.
Her mood, however, started to take a tumble as she opened the door of the local newsstand. The doorway was blocked by a bulky man standing right inside the doorway, his face buried in a copy of Tiger Beat magazine. He let out a high-pitched giggle every so often, and took absolutely no notice of Melpomene, or anything else around him for that matter.
