Characters: Asclepius, Apollo, Melpomene, Emily & Haley Oram, and Julian & Laurel Cyrus.

Summary: Asclepius has the girls for the weekend, and arranged a playdate with the Cyrus twins!

Asclepius had done his best to explain to his daughters the situation without telling too much. He'd explained that their Uncle Dorian's kids were very special children, and may have some surprising aspects. The girls had barely cared. They were getting to see their Uncle Dorian and had new kids to play with!

So, the good doctor hoped for the best and rang the bell. Best he stick around anyway, just in case things got out of hand...

"They're here! They're here!!" Laurel shrieked and ran toward the door before anyone could even think to stop her. She fought with the doorknob to open the door. "Daddy! Daddy! They're here!"

Asclepius just chuckled.
"Hello, Laurel. It's good to see you again. Girls, this is your cousin Laurel. Laurel, these are my daughters, Emily and Haley."

"Hi!" Emily chirped with a smile. Haley, a little more shy, just waved.

"Hi Emily!" Laurel practically sang the girl's name and abruptly, and warmly, hugged her. And then she turned to Haley and did the exact same thing. "Hi Haley!"

Emily laughed and hugged back.
"So... don't you have a brother too?" she asked.

Laurel rolled her eyes dramatically at the question. "Yeah, I do." And then she took Emily and Haley both by the hand and drew them inside, and shouted for her brother. "Julian! C'mon! They're here!"

"YAY, cousins!" the little boy shouted as he ran in. "Hi! I'm Julian. Oh, hi, big brother!"

Apollo chuckled as he strode in.
"They're a bit excited as you can see, Paean," he said.

"I'm pretty sure that's the level of enthusiasm they show for everything," came Mel's voice. She trailed in after Apollo, and despite her sardonic observation, she slid an arm around her sun god's waist, casually cuddling against his side.

"Emily, Haley, this is Julian," Laurel chirped, completely ignoring the adults at this point.

"Yes, I remember. Lustiest cries of all the newborns," Asclepius quipped, "Nice to see you again, Mel."

"Are you supposed to be this big?" Haley wondered aloud.

Melpomene just nodded at Asclepius. Probably one the friendlies greetings she'd ever given the man.

"Course we are, silly." Laurel giggled at Haley, and then tugged on her cousins' hands gentle. "C'mon, lets go play!"

"Looks like family life has grown on the two of you," the doctor observed.

"What are we going to play?" Emily asked.

Mel made a sound that was part scoff and part laugh, and didn't comment. Instead, she just settled her head on Apollo's shoulder.

"I've got dolls," Laurel suggested. They were girls after all.

Apollo wrapped his arm around her smugly.
"We're getting used to it," he said cheerfully.

Julian made a face.
"Dolls are boring, Laurel."

Mel saw that smug look on Apollo's face and playfully pinched him. It wouldn't even hurt.

"Not to girls, Julian," the little girl said with a roll of her eyes.

"Glad to hear. I see they haven't destroyed anything yet."

"Dolls are fine," Emily interjected.

"What kind of dolls? Baby dolls? Barbies?" Haley asked

Laurel stuck her tongue out at Julian because Emily agreed with her. "I have Bratz cuz Mommy says if I'm gonna have body image issues at least I should also be in- in- incooraged to be musical at the same time," she said like she understood the sage wisdom of those words.

Julian rolled his eyes.
"You're nothing but issues, Laurel."

"Look who's talking, Julian," his twin shot back.

Mel groaned out loud. "They're kicking off again. Could you please divinely intervene, Sunshine?"

"Julian and Laurel, we have guests. Mind your manners, or you'll have to go to separate corners again and no more playtime," Apollo scolded.

Julian made a face.
"...Yes, Dad," he conceded.

"Don't make faces," Laurel whispered none too quietly at her brother. Though it was one of those whispers where it was obvious she didn't yet understand that they could still be heard. More loudly she said, "Sorry, Daddy."

"It's all right," Emily said, "Let's go play."

"Okay! Julian, take Haley's other hand."

"Come on, Haley!" Julian laughed, grabbing Haley's hand.

Now that they'd all made a little chain of hands, Laurel launched into a little run to the twins' shared room. She fully expected the other kids to run with her....or she'd end up dragging them behind her.

Emily and Haley ran along with the twins, following them.
"So what games should we play with the dolls?" Haley asked.

"What do you like to play?" Laurel had been reminded by her Daddy to do things their cousins wanted to do, because they were guests.

"Teas, usually," Emily said, "Proper teas."
