She didn't interrupt him when she saw him eating. Actually eating. She didn't want to distract him from putting food in his body. It was only when she gauged he was done, or at least winding down on the food did she speak again.
"As much as you know I don't like getting fancied up, I'm glad we did this. You needed to get out."
