Summary: JC and Celtic strongmen must join forces.

Goliath had gone to sleep in a local hotel after picking up some new hardware from a local contact. He slept in the clothes he checked-in with. His job stressed being ready at any place you didn't feel a hundred percent secure. Still, he'd managed a pretty peaceful sleep.

Goliath sniffed derisively. "You ask me I don't think they know want they want. I mean first they've got us racing each other, then they force us to play nice, after that they want us to start breeding..I'm not seeing the fucking logic here."

"I'm not sure what their game is either," Ogma said, shaking his head.

"Well, there has to be a way out of this. I don't think they'd chain us for no reason."

Goliath mutters and thinks for a bit. "Okay..they want cooperation. Maybe..they want us to do something together?"

"Seems as likely as anything," Ogma said. "Some kind of mutual benefit, perhaps."

"That'd be my guess," Goliath agreed.

"All right. I know we have the formal alliance and all, thanks to Esther's efforts, but is there anything in particular my people can do for yours? Or, at least, that I can do for you?" Ogma asked.

Goliath shrugs. "Can you make a gun out of thin air so I can put one between Gaia's eyes?"

Ogma laughed.
"Out of thin air? No. Afraid not. I... might be able to MacGuyver one out of things in the room, but I doubt it'd be very effective or hold together after shooting it," he said.

Goliath shrugs.
"S'Okay. The thought's appreciated."

"I'm afraid I'm just a fairly regular guy. I teach high school English, coach sports, I've got three kids--soon to be four--and a dog. Live in the Midwest, pay my taxes... Just doing the best I can to make an honest living," Ogma said with a shrug of his own.

"Heh, you're practically my polar opposite," Goliath said, amused. "I'm a Hell's Angel weekend warrior who travels the world blowing shit up."

"Maybe that's why they paired us up. Two big strong guys, very different, but, plenty in common too," Ogma suggested.

"Sounds fucking poetic," Goliath said, still pretty annoyed about the whole thing.

"Well, I do teach poetry sometimes," Ogma joked.

"So, I'm curious, do the explosions serve a particular purpose?"

"I flunked it myself," Goliath admitted.

"As fun as it can be, I rarely blow stuff up for the sake of blowing it up. Usually whatever purpose my current employer pays me to work towards. Still, I keep things confined to people who know the kind of shit they're getting into. Pay's good, I get to travel, and work out my aggression issues with excessive force."

"Aha. A shame we don't have anything in here that would allow us to put your demolitions expertise to work on getting us out of here," Ogma mused.

"And.. it's actually rather difficult to flunk poetry, depending on how it's being taught. And, no, it's not all boring. Epics like the Iliad or Beowulf are filled with violence, sex and gore. Even a poem I read for Lilith once, "Goblin Market," has themes of rape, kidnapping, incest, lesbianism and murder. And Shakespeare loved a dirty joke as much as anyone."
