She broke from the group immediately. Their's were quests to recover something stolen. She was on a different mission. It was great arrogance to steal from one's own Queen, and any Unseelie Fae would know that to touch one of the god-children would be seen as stealing from Mab.

The land had responded to her return instantaneously, causing a winter storm to announce her ahead and follow in her wake. The traps and tricks fell away under her approach, leaving her path practically unbarred. Thus she arrived at her own palace unmolested.

The structure was unlike anything a mortal mind would comprehend, made of pure glacial ice. It was both cold and beautiful at once. Ice shown like crystal in colors from frosted greens to deepest purples. Halls blended and twisted in strange ways, and rooms seemed to shift and change places from one minute to the next. But Mab's steps were sure. The castle bowed to her will. It could never fool her.

It felt almost too easy.
