It was a tight squeeze, even though he wasn't particularly an imposing type. The two of them were pressed up against each other due to the confines of the door's chamber-- though, instead of feeling claustrophobic, he actually found her touch more than a little reassuring. Already he could feel himself starting to calm down, and he gave a half-chuckle.

"I don't mean to be a fraidy-cat. It's just that today's been so weird that... well, what new rock's gonna fall on my head, you know?" As they shuffled around to bring the chamber to face the portal, he looked Ariadne full in the face. "Listen... do me a favor, will you?"
