Summary: 'Tis the day before Valentine's... THIS REQUIRES SHOPPING!

Erato bounded up to Apollo's house, her step light. She'd hadn't yet spent any good one-on-one time with her other Musely sister. And now, on the eve of Valentine's--easily one of the biggest holidays for Erato--they were going to go shopping!

She rang the doorbell, bouncing on her toes.
"Hi Mel! Ready?" she asked when the door opened.

Erato blushed.
"Well... I mean... It's not just about the sex..." she murmured self-consciously.

"I wasn't just talking about sex either. You guys have a connection and what not, right? He'll see you all made up just for him, he won't be able to help himself."

"You really think so?" Erato asked, selecting her perfume and glancing at the other cosmetics along the counter.

"I really think so."

Now colors Mel could do. She perused the cosmetics, focusing more on the eyes shadows. "I think you should do a smokey eye, but with pinks."

"So... pink shadows with black liner and mascara?" Erato asked.

"Yeah, I'd use these." She offered up three different shades of pink, the darkest almost a perfect match for the lingerie Erato had chosen. "Get that dramatic look, and your eyes will absolutely pop. I'd say a pale blush and maybe just a shiny gloss for your lips."

Erato nodded.
"Wouldn't want to overdo it," she agreed.

"I should get something for him, shouldn't I? But what? The one gift I ordered for him probably won't be ready until almost his birthday..."

"I hope that 'but what' was a rhetorical question. I don't know him well enough to help with gift shopping."

"Oh, I know," Erato sighed, "But what are you supposed to give a guy for Valentine's Day? I mean, we girls get flowers, candy, jewelry... But what are we supposed to give them? What's expected?"

She raised her brows and gave her sister a long stare, because the answer was rather obvious. "Sex."

"Nothing else?" Erato asked.

"It's sort of the thing for Valentine's day. They woo us with stuff, we reward their effort with sex."

Erato shrugged.
"It just seems like there should be more to it, I guess. I don't know. I've never really done the Valentine's thing myself before. Not with a boyfriend, anyway."

"Thus I say, follow your impulses. You're a romantic at heart, hun. There's no wrong choices for you."

"Okay..." Erato mused, and then she noted a little craft corner. In a basket in a display of materials were several small handkerchiefs embroidered with a red rose in the corner.

"Oh!" Erato said with a little giggle, "He is my hero. I could make him a proper favor!" She also picked up a small red applique "A" and "K" and some red and pink ribbons. "Just sew these on, and it'll be like he's my knight in shining armor!"

She stared at her overly enthused sister before shading her head in amusement. "Sometimes you're too cute, Erato. Just way too damn cute."

"Well, someone has to be the cute one," she teased back. "I just hope he likes it."
