Summary: On his way to go meet Melpomene out in New York, Apollo decides to drop in on Arthur unannounced.

Apollo felt torn. Certainly, part of him wanted to rush right out to Melpomene and bring her home straightaway. But... she seemed to need a little time to herself. Or with Triton, as the case might be. He still didn't quite understand what appeal she saw in the frigid sea prince, but he wasn't a bad fellow, even if he was a bit of a git in Apollo's opinion. So, admittedly, Apollo was dragging his feet a bit on going to see her. What better time than to go a visit his little Celtic flame?

The sun god honestly wasn't sure if the bookstore would be open in Gawain's absence, but it was worth a try. Upon arriving, he found the door open, and waltzed right in.

"Hello, hello!" he called out cheerfully.

"It's looking like he is. I'm not sure what he's planning for her commitment-wise, if anything, but he was with her on her birthday, and I understand he insists on being at her side when she breaks the news to her mortal parents. The girl has never been more in love," Apollo mused. "Of course, if he ever abandoned her, I'd make sure she was taken care of personally. As soon as I beat the lad to a bloody pulp."

"An excellent plan. Care for lunch?"

"I'd love to tuck in, actually. What do you have?" he asked.

"I've got some apple chutney in Gawain's fridge, just coming to term. And some leftover grilled chicken."

"Sounds like a delightful combination," Apollo said with a grin, wrapping his arm around Arthur's waist. "Not unlike a couple of blokes I know."

Arthur chuckles, perfectly happy with where hands are, as of they head for food.

Apollo accompanied him to the kitchen area of the upstairs apartment.
"...you know, mate... Part of the reason I'm here is because, well... Obviously, things are changing here so rapidly... And... I didn't want you to think my feelings for you had changed. Because, they haven't. I still love you," the sun god admitted.

A thin smile. "I figured you probably did. I still love you, too. But you've got Mel and the kids to keep in mind. That's going to take more time."

"Hmm. Yes," Apollo agreed, "But, the twins won't be here until December. And considering my dear Muse is probably warming the sea-prince's bed at the moment, I think she'd rather have you to distract me from doting on her." He flashed Arthur a bright smile. "Besides. She did make me promise to introduce the two of you at some point."

"Looking forward to it." He leans in for a kiss.

And kiss him he did! Apollo warmly wrapped his arms around him, holding Arthur close.
"Ah, you're brilliant, you know that? I might have you come with me off to New York when I fetch my Muse."
