It was a fairly quiet morning in hospice as Sigyn was making her rounds. Suddenly a matronly woman bumped into her.

"Oh, excuse me, dear. I was just going to fetch an extra blanket for Mrs. Hodgkins. Sorry about that. Everything going well for you otherwise this morning?"

"Well enough, thanks," Sigyn says warmly. "And I can get the blanket... did they just transfer you into the ward?" Sigyn had figured she knew everybody.

The woman smiled enigmatically.
"Just here to do what I can to help, dear. It's important what we do--helping bring people together in comfort during their last days."

She smiles. "It really is."

The woman lightly touched Sigyn on the arm, her fingers giving off a warm, tingly feeling.
"I know it's easy to feel forgotten and unappreciated some days, but you mustn't think that. You're very important in the role you play."

And Sigyn smiles a little broader. "Thank you, Ma'am. I appreciate it. Now let's get Mrs. Hodges that blanket."

"Of course, dear," the woman said, following her to get the blanket. "You know, your family needs you too. Your patience. Your diplomacy. Your ability to work with others. You'll need it here soon, I think."

"Oh. You're... up on family news, huh. I ... well, I'll try to believe you there."

The woman smiled enigmatically again, her eyes glittering with knowledge of something old and powerful.
"Indeed, dear girl. And not just for the wedding. No, I imagine it will go far beyond that."

"Oh my." Pause. A deep breath. Because Sigyn's mind always circles back to one place. "Will we find...them? The missing people?"

"Those who have not been found will return to the fold in their own time, not before. You must work with who is present in the here and now. Perhaps with that charming young doctor up north, to begin? Or the demoness carrying a Tuatha child in this very city? You must all stand together if you are to withstand what is coming and succeed."
