It was a good morning for music, Apollo thought to himself as he ambled down along the sidewalk. It was unfortunate that Melpomene didn't feel the same-- hence his impromptu public performance for any passing pedestrians-- but what could you do.
As he took out his guitar and began to tune it, he didn't notice the eyes watching him from a few doorways down. They watched him as he began playing his warm-up songs, sounding out his music to the neighborhood.
Apollo had been playing for the better part of an hour when he noticed the woman watching him, clearly enjoying his performance. When she noticed Apollo looking in her direction, she stepped closer and tossed a coin into his open guitar case; from the sound of it, it was rather a heavy one. "I can tell a lot of people like listening to you," she said with a smile.

Apollo grinned.
"Soothe them, heal the sick... Haven't tried raising the dead, though--I leave that one to my boy. Need a Pied Piper to distract a few people, is that it?"

With the same sardonic smile, the woman answered "I was thinking more like using your charms to get your friends to stop fighting with each other for a change." She tapped him on the knee with a fingertip briefly. "All your efforts need to go to a better purpose now."

"And what purpose is that?" the sun god asked, "Things are too murky even for my intuition."

She leaned in closer. "Remember the Solstice. Tell me, wouldn't you like to feel that way again, all the time?"

He quirked an eyebrow.
"I wouldn't be opposed to it. Why?"

"Because that's what you're working towards." She backed off a little, adding "And as things are right now, it's what you're going to fail at unless something changes. That's where you come in."
