Summary: Tyr searches the Hotel for some hint as to what the place is while searching for other guests.

There was no way he could sit sit quietly in his room. He had to figure out what was going on. Hopefully he'd find some other guests who may know more. Wishful thinking perhaps, but he wasn't going to stay on his ass for the "bellhop" to summon him. Besides, the man said he could pretty much do as he wanted. So Kevin began his search of his floor, which looked like an odd combination of the disco era of the 70's and... Shogunate Japan-era architecture? This place was weird.

Sif had already found her room up on the fourth floor, and freshened up a bit, washing off the flour, changing out of her chef's wear. She had chosen a simply-cut dress of blue to set off her eyes instead. She still smelled of freshly-baked cookies.

She'd taken the elevator up, but this hotel was so unusual, she'd decided to take the stairs down and get a look at the different floors before it was time for the gathering.

When she got to the second floor, she noticed a figure that seemed all too familiar, though she'd never actually laid eyes on him like this before.

"Tyr? Is that you?" she asked.

"Oh, it's so good to see you too!" she said, smiling brightly as she walked over to give him a friendly hug.

"The bellhop wouldn't tell me who else was here, but it's wonderful to know that I'm not the only one here from Asgard."

Sif glanced around. "Is this the floor where you're staying? I'm all the way up on the fourth floor, personally."

"Odin too? Oh, it'll be just like old times!" Sif said happily.

"I'm sort of looking around too. I haven't seen anything like this before. This even outdoes Frank Lloyd Wright. I don't know if our floor numbers are important or not, but mine seems positively empty. In fact, you're the first person I've seen since I started down the stairs."

"No problem. And, yes. Amber Wheatley. And you go by Kevin now, yes? Would you prefer I call you Tyr or Kevin?" She smiled. "Well, either way, unless Nigel's managed to eat them all somehow, there are two dozen chocolate-chip cookies I just took out of the oven in the lobby. Would you like one?

Sif laughed.
"I think I can manage calling you Kevin. But the cookies are downstairs, unless someone's moved them." She headed off for the lobby. "Ah, good. Still right where I left them."

"It is nice," she agreed, "And you? Are you enjoying your line of work these days?"

"That's unfortunate; so sorry to hear it. If there's ever anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask," Sif said.

"So, tell me about your little girl."

"Oh, look at her! She's beautiful." Sif smiled at him. "She has your eyes."

"I'm still looking forward to starting a family of my own. I suppose I just haven't found the right person yet."

"Well, she's a beauty. If it's not too personal for me to ask, does she live with you or her mother?" Sif wondered.

"And, one day, I'm sure I will. Though, to be someone I know well, it'd have to be another one of our kind, really." She sighed, a bit wistfully. "Though, if it's going to be a reality, I probably shouldn't wait too much longer to go looking. Biological clocks don't run forever in mortal bodies, after all."

"I'm sure you're an excellent father, injury or no injury," Sif said.

"But, no. I haven't seen any sign of Thor or Aurvandil. Neither of my husbands, and none of my children," she sighed, "Truthfully, it's my sons I miss the most."

"You're welcome. And, don't worry about it. I mean, I keep hoping, but I have to be realistic, too. There's no guarantee I'll see them in this lifetime, and even if they do come, there's no telling if they might not be... changed."

She smiled and picked up the cookie tray. "Well, we probably should be off to the ballroom. We don't want to be late for the gathering."

Sif smiled.
"Why, thank you," she said, accepting his arm, and carefully balancing the cookies in her other hand as she led the way to the ballroom.
