Summary: A friendly luncheon, arranged by Siobhan. Completely innocent.



The restaurant was a reservation only place, and of course there was a reservation. The tables were small, intimate affairs, with crisply ironed red table cloths, a small neat arrangement of roses in the center, and black napkins folded into perfect triangles on the gold trimmed china plates.

The ladies, of course, were behind schedule. Read: late. Mab was annoyed by it, and Siobhan was pretending to be blissfully ignorant of her daughter's distaste for the lack of punctuality. The two walked to the table, with Siobhan holding up nearly the entire conversation herself, which was mostly about some charming little dress shop, and how some things you just had to fly down South to find.

Siobhan was a vast contrast to her daughter. Her coloring was vibrantly blonde (Mab would tell anyone who commented on the short coif, that it was very expertly dyed), and her eyes a deep honey-brown. She was lovely, but it was rare that a stranger would pick out that Siobhan and Maeve were mother and daughter. Their only similar traits being their cheek bones and their fair skin.

So as they were lead to their little table by the hostess, Mab looked nonplussed, while Siobhan prattled on animatedly.

"Oh, come now, do you both think your mothers blind? You both vanish without a word, on the same day, for over a month and come back on the same day. And if that wasn't enough, her secretary told me she was humming at work. Humming." She stresses the word like it was the key to it all.

"That doesn't mean that-" Hold the phone now. "..Maeve..hummed?"

She nodded once. "Mo Ghile Maer apparently. Apt seeing as your little tryst was over."

She hummed THAT song? At first he was surprised, then it shifted to pride, and then to a sense of gratification. For the most part he kept this internal.

"I see," was all he could think to say.

"Then you see the significance of this. Maeve thinks I don't notice anything, but I knew every time she snuck off with boys -men- at parties and events. And I noticed that when she tried to sneak off with you, and you wouldn't go, she took it a lot harder than she let on. She started changing into the woman she is now that night, Christopher. I don't know what you said to her, but it had an impact."

"I told her that while I found her interesting, that a part of her seemed buried, lost. I told her that one day I'd very much like to meet that woman she hid inside."

"And I take you enjoy the woman she's revealed to you?" She doesn't give him even a moment to respond to that. "I do hope you continue to do so in any case. Whatever your arrangement is, Christopher, it's doing her a world of good."

And Bres will sit agog for a moment. Did Mab's mother just tell him to continue having sex with her daughter? Was he still in that damn hotel? "It is?"

"Of course!" She sounded surprised he didn't notice. "She's humming to herself at work. She agreed to come to Georgia with me to shop, and arranged lunch with you with almost no argument. Even if she did roll her eyes at the back of my head when she thought I couldn't see her. She's never this relaxed, Christopher."

He really had that much of an effect on Mab? Sexually was one thing, but to affect her in her everyday life? Oh yes, this definitely gave a boost to the old ego, but no reason to use all this at once.

"That..makes me happy," he admits honestly.

"Excellent, because no matter how she tries to mask it, it's making her happy too. And that's all I've ever wanted for her." She paused as the waiter arrived with the salad course, and continued. "Now, I do hope you'll do me the favor of not revealing your newfound insight until I can make myself scarce."

He made Mab happy..the thought brings him genuine happiness.

"Of course, Siobhan. I wouldn't want to witness a matricide right before my eyes."

Siobhan smiled, utterly unconcerned about the idea of being murdered by her daughter, even in jest. "You're a dear."

The click of heels proceeded Mab's return to the table. She made no explanation about what the call had been about, and resumed her seat. "I trust you kept each other sufficiently entertained." It was the closest thing to an apology for the absence that she was likely to give.

"We managed," Bres assured, keeping a straight face. "I managed not to bore your mother to death, so there's a positive."

"Siobhan isn't overly difficult to please." Under the table, Mab's knee brushed against his.

"That's not a bad thing, Maeve." Bres takes the slight movement as an indicator to resume his earlier caress. His hand moves back to her leg, but starts to slowly inch the skirt up.

"It certainly makes birthdays and Christmas easier," she conceded. Her expression remained stoic, but her eyes glittered when the met his

"Oh, and just what of things do you like, Siobhan?" The skirt is pulled up over her knee, where Bres' hand now rests.

"Oh, aside from the obvious I enjoy gardening. One can always hire landscapers, but there's just a certain satisfaction to being more hands on," the older woman replied genially.

Mab's leg moved against his hand, making her skirt ride a fraction higher, a subtle invitation.

"I understand that. I have a lot of people I could delegate tasks to, but I still enjoy doing things for myself." Bres gets the message, sliding his hand up further along her now bare thigh, pushing the skirt up as he does so.

"And that's the way it ought to be. Far too many young people these days as want to do little as possible and still have all the benefits. So few take pride in their work."

While her mother chatted away, Mab was eating her salad, easily masking her internal arousal at Bres' questing hand. And as the skirt rode up, she parted her thighs for him slightly.

"True, true," Bres conceded sadly. The hand slides back up, slipping between her legs and palming her once more.

Mab had brought her tea to her lips at just the right moment, because her facade cracked slightly and her lips curved up slightly at the corners. This was because this time he was not touching her through the skirt but beneath it, and he will have discovered her little surprise now. She wasn't wearing any panties.

Bres had been about to take a drink when he suddenly felt-oh shit! Good He managed a cough to cover his surprise. She knew they were going to see her mother and she knew what he had intended to do! And she wore no panties!? Oh the devious minx... He grasps her more firmly at the realization.

"Sorry, some wine went down the wrong tube."

Mab sat up a little straighter when he adjusted his hold, giving him only the slightest of smiles.

"Careful, Christopher," Siobhan said with concern. "We wouldn't want you to choke."
