Summary: Aphrodite brings Ivy over for a playdate with Meriset

Once Triton had come by to get Anthony, Aphrodite was prompt in arriving at Seth and Tara's place. Ivy held her mother's hand, and tried to smooth a wrinkle out of her skirt. She was wearing her nicest play pinafore, wanting to look her prettiest for her first visit to someone else's house. She had a small backpack of toys and her paint set slung over one shoulder.

Aphrodite rang the bell and waited patiently, with a reassuring smile at Ivy.
"Don't worry, dear, I'm sure you and Meriset will have plenty of fun."

Tara had told him the pair were coming over. While he initally wasn't a hundred percent behind the idea, Tara convinced him was something they should get Meri used to, especially if they started having her at the other children's houses.

He opened the door.

"Hey, Callista," Seth greeted with a smile. "Hey, Ivy."

"Hello, Mr. Fizzini," Ivy said formally, with carefully practiced politeness, "Thank you for having us over."

Aphrodite smiled beatifically.
"Hello, Aldo," she said warmly.

Seth raised a playful eyebrow at the child's formality. "You're welcome. Come on in, Tara and Meri should be around."

He returned Dite's smile.

And so they are.

"Hey, Ivy. Hey, Miss Dite."

"Hi Meri!" Ivy chirped, bounding forward. "Oh. And you have a very nice home. I brought grape juice. Mother says I'm not yet old enough to bring wine."

"It's her first playdate away from home and the group setting. She wanted to be sure she would be a perfect guest," Aphrodite explained quietly to Seth.

"Grape juice is better, anyway. What's your view on ponies?"

Ivy considered.
"Real ones, or toy ones?" she asked.

"Toys are all I got on hand; we're going to have to make some arrangements in advance some other time for the real ones."

"I think it will be very nice either way," Ivy said with a smile, "Mother gave me some nice Breyer ponies from when she was little. Oh, and some of the My Little Ponies too. Rarity is my favorite."

Tara steps up behind a little. "I'd've killed for some Breyer ponies when I was little. Kept my classic MLP stuff in storage, though."

"Gusty is the best," Meri says. She likes the aerokinetic pony, go figure. "But Rarity is great if you're into that."

"Well she's doing fine," Seth whispered back. "How are things?"

"I'm sure we could each play our favorites and have them be good friends," Ivy suggested cheerfully.

Aphrodite smiled.
"I'm still on maternity leave until the end of the month, but the twins are adapting well. Triton comes by sometimes to give Anthony tutoring with his abilities. That's where he is now, is with his brother. Otherwise, we're all settling in well. How are things here?"

"They've been okay. Meri's adjusted well, maybe too well. I have to make sure I keep certain things locked down around her."

"Good plan. Different skillsets doing stuff together is important." Ivy will hopefully excuse Meri's slightly tactical view on My Little Pony playtime.

Aphrodite chuckled.
"So I can imagine. How is everyone else adjusting to her. The twins gave my personal assistant something of a shock, but otherwise most people just melt around them. Ivy in particular. Anthony... well, he does have that sea god temperament."

Ivy blinked, just a little bit confused.
"Um, ok. Let's go see the ponies!"

"About what you'd expect, but people are adjusting."

"Do you have much trouble finding sitters? I'm lucky in that Anthony and Ivy are well-behaved for their age, but until they're a little more self-sufficient, it's going to make things rather more challenging for my social circles," Aphrodite sighed.

"I have someone uniquely qualified to look after a goddess, but Meri's relatively well behaved. Do I have a formal sitter? No." He nods. "Yeah, I'm going to have to adapt myself."

And Meri will happily scamper off and get Ivy engaged in the affairs of ponies.

Ivy was only too happy to play ponies and let the grown-ups talk.

"Well, it's like they say, the fashion world waits for no one," Aphrodite conceded, "They're charming enough, as they get older, they might be able to attend some functions with me, but, really, so many of the things we do aren't at all suitable for children."
