Characters: Baldr and whoever happens to want to nose about.
Date/Time: Backdated to December 29, 2012
Location: A less traveled corner of the stairs
Rating: PG?
Warnings: Probably slightly angsty. We shall see.
Summary: It's Sean's birthday, and he has a book with his divine memories in it, and he's trying to understand it to very little avail.
So, he's convinced he's losing his mind.
He realized this morning that when he took a look at the calendar, he'd been mushing his dates together in his mind, having announced his own birthday nearly two weeks prematurely. Ah, well, he thinks sourly, considering that this generally happened when he didn't have something to do to keep his days straight. Not much to be done about it today. My parents are probably flipping the fuck out...
People seem to be milling around and doing their own...whatever it is that god sorts do, and after the incident with Athena and Triton, he's in a mood to spend some time on his own.
Again.
He's found a spot in a corner on one of the stair landings and tucked himself away, much as he did when he was a child and had often found various library corners during college to study. There is something very comforting in of itself for Sean, and though some here might know him as 'Baldr', it is difficult to grasp onto. With a racing heart, he opens the scrapbook full of what Athena referred to as his old memories. In truth, he hasn't touched it since he'd seen the picture of the glowing man and his equally glowy significant other. A pain hit him like a Louisville Slugger, and a name that wasn't Jehanne's escaped his lips.
He sighs, looking over the drawings, the little trinkets of bygone days, and wonders how in the world any of this is supposed to help.

Date: 2013-01-14 07:36 am (UTC)"My songbook! I got it for Christmas too. Wanna see?" It was a rhetorical question, because of course he'd want to see. And she was climbing on to his lap in, because then they could both see the book.

Date: 2013-01-14 11:14 am (UTC)As Laurel sings her song, a strange, yet welcome calm seems to run through Sean. And somehow, his anxiety, his stress, depression, and anger feel as though they are distant memories. And yet, they had been there only moments before...

Date: 2013-01-15 01:24 am (UTC)"Ummm... Hi... and hi, Laurel. Mommy told me this was yours," he said, shyly approaching Baldr.

Date: 2013-01-15 11:26 am (UTC)"That's my dad. Tyr. He looks different there, but that's him. He's super brave. Put his hand in a wolf's mouth so the other gods could tie up the mean wolf. The wolf wasn't happy, and he bit off Dad's hand."
He looked up at Baldr.
"He's your brother. That's why you're my uncle."

Date: 2013-01-19 08:39 am (UTC)"The wolf was very strong. So, they had to trick him to tie him up. Dad put his hand in the wolf's mouth to show they didn't mean to hurt him. He still lost the hand, though."
The little boy turned a few more pages. The next one he stopped on showed a burly man wielding a large hammer, with a pretty woman with very long hair stood behind him.
"That's Thor. Thunder god. He was my mommy's second husband, because he challenged her first husband for her. But she's married to my dad now. She was one of the prettiest of the gods--only one was prettier than her. But Dad disagrees. He says Mom's the prettiest. She definitely has the prettiest hair. It's real gold."
