Summary: Bres comes to Mab's rescue. Sort of. Aka Gaia's punishment backfires.


She was alternating pacing and snuggling her cat. (The cat incidentally was highly distressed by the strange display.) She had a throw blanket wrapped around her shoulders and a pair of pajamas on. It was the warmest long sleeved and full length pants she owned.

Bres' large form could be surprisingly stealthy. The way was clear, just as Mab said it would be. He quickly made his way past security without alerting them and making his way up quickly to wear his room was. He knocked gently.

"Mab? I'm here."

The door was flung open and Mab unceremoniously threw herself at him, blanket and all. Her arms went around his shoulders, her face pressed into his neck. Obviously, his form doesn't deter her one little bit. "Oh thank god, I was getting so worried. You didn't tell me what time to expect you, but apparently that doesn't matter. I got worried anyway."

Bres as a little taken aback by the display, but he found himself putting his arms around her.

"I'm sorry. It's been so long since I roamed in this form. I didn't know how long it would take to get here."

"Don't be sorry. I'm completely out of control emotionally. I'm quite sure my cat thinks I've lost my mind." She drew back, pulling him inside so she could close the door. Her penthouse felt hot, probably close to eighty degrees. And she was still cuddling a blanket around herself. " Are you too warm? I can turn it do down a little."

It was indeed warm, but he wasn't going to complain about it.

"It doesn't bother me."

"Oh, good." She sounded incredibly relieved. Every emotion was just over the top, and it was all coming out with no filter. And without that filter, she was back to embracing him. "Gaia has made such a mess of everyone. Ogma lost his strength, I can't reach Arthur, and Lilith is apparently hiding because her powers are out of control."

She looked up at him then. "I don't want you anywhere near her. She's suddenly an over powered sex magnet, and she's prettier than I am."

He was definitely not used to this level of affection from Mab. It was kind of nice actually..but it was not who Mab was. And that wasn't acceptable. "Yes, we have a lot of work to do if we're going to regain what we've lost."

He raised an eyebrow at her. "No she's not."

"Yes she is." She made a growl of frustration, touching her forehead to his chest. "This is not me. I don't get jealous or insecure, or needy for affection. We need to fix this. And then kick Gaia's teeth down her throat."

"We will," he assured her with firm determination. "She isn't to me," he found himself saying.

Are lifted her face, blinking long black lashes at him. "Really?" This really shouldn't be an area of focus, but Mab had been successfully robbed of her cool logic. But hey, he was seeing her really smile for once.

And by whatever higher being governed such things was it a radiant one.

"Really," he said, meaning it. "You are a very stunning woman."

She kissed him. With enthusiasm. This was the sort of emotion that Mab had normally contained inside her, behind her cool control.

Bres was surprised at the sudden display of passionate affection. His lips in Fomori form were not quite as accustomed to kissing as his human one. Of course that didn't stop him from instinctively returning it with gusto.

His form didn't bother her. She was Unseelie Court, and those fae were often far more interesting looking than just human-esque. So when he responded in kind, she was encouraged. Worries about her current condition crumbled under the desire to press herself against him and just keep kissing.

And feeling her against him was simply invigorating. Suddenly rational thought, infuriatingly. came to the forefront. He reluctantly parted from her lips, though he still had a hold of her.

"Mab..we need to stop..before I do what I desperately want to do."

"I don't want to stop." Her voice was husky and her fingers were tracing along his shoulders, light, teasing, purposefully seductive. "I've missed you."

"And I you," Bres admitted, voice deep and lustful. "Nothing, and I mean nothing, would make me happier than to take you in every way possible..but," he hesitated. "but my..affection, is tempered by respect. I respect you too much to take advantage of this."

"I like it when you take advantage of me," she said with a wicked grin. At least she was still the same stubborn woman that knew what she wanted. She just couldn't properly prioritize.

Okay..maybe he needed to switch gears.

"Mab, there are..physical complications. In this form I'm..considerably larger," he informed, glanced at the pants that barely contained his Fomorian body, and the larger-than-normal bulge there.

She licked her lips slowly. One of her hands started to glide down his chest, heading decidedly south. "I do enjoy a challenge."

That look..sweet merciful crap.

"Mab..I don't want you to regret anything when you're you again," he said, trying to be stern, but his Fomori side was screaming at him to let her do as she wished.

"I'd never regret taking you to my bed, Bres." Her fingers finally found the waist band of his pants, trailing back and forth between fabric and his skin. "You'd be the first you know," she whispered tauntingly.

Okay, that was doing nothing for his restraint. His hands went to her shoulders, sliding along her arms.

"Mab..I know you don't want children..I don't want to go against your wishes."

His touch was encouraging. She pressed a slow kiss to his throat, her skin was warmer than it had ever been. So this was what it was like to be a Summer Court Fae; all warmth and passion. "Birth control, a chumann."

And there went his resolve.
