Summary: Bres and Hanuman must work together to escape..without a potential homicide.

While it had been strangely liberating to remain in Fomorian form for so long, not to mention the time spent with Mab during it, it was a relief to finally be able to change back to his Tuatha form. It gave him a greater sense of peace-of-mind..well more peaceful given Bres' constant fluctuating mindset. Lately his thoughts were on the things said between him and Mab when their traits were removed..it was a lot to consider. He'd spent a lot of time thinking about it the previous night before falling asleep in his study-chair, so his clothes, while casual, were not nightclothes. Wait..if he'd fallen asleep in his study-chair..then how the hell did he wind up in a bed? He opened his eyes and stretched, only to notice the chain attached to his wrist. "What is this?" And then he noticed the chain was attached to another body sleeping in the bed. "Hey, wake up! I need answers!"

"Huh? What? Not the coconuts!"

Jolted awake by the holler and the jerk and clank of a chain, Hanuman sat straight up - from asleep to wide awake in 3.5 seconds with only one moment of lucid dreaming. Hence the coconuts. He blinked owlishly at the strange man beside him for a moment. Then he looked down at his usual nightwear of boxers and a tank top in thoughtful consideration before glancing around the unfamiliar room. His expression seemed rather less upset than one would expect from someone waking up in a strange place with a strange man.

Finally, he turned to Bres and cocked his head, a wry grin appearing on his mouth. "Wow," he announced. "This is a new one for me. I'm sorry, man. I totally didn't get your name."

"Hanuman. Of the Hindus." Hanuman gave Bres another approving once-over and smile but then turned his attention to his new metal accessory. He fingered the solid chain that ran from his wrist to the other god's. Experimentally, he gave it a little tug to see if he could dislodge it from his cuff; it held fast. "Huh. So weird. I'm kinda depressed here, I won't lie. I mean, how drunk do you have to be to not remember getting handcuffed to someone else and then falling asleep with them? More to the point, why did we get handcuffed together and end up in bed together? Not that you're not pretty good-looking and all but this is really beyond weird. Totally out of my wheel-house. Not my usual thing at all. Usually I'd get your name first, at least!"

Not in the least bothered by any anger Bres might have been feeling in his direction, Hanuman frowned and rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand. "Wait. She's doing it again? Didn't she get it all out of her system with the last weird stuff she put us through?" He lifted the manacled hand as if to illustrate a point. "Because this is really way too much right after that."

"Shits and giggles?" Hanuman poked at the links attached to his own cuff, nose wrinkling in thought. "She's got a really sick sense of humor, I'll tell you that." He huffed a sigh and then looked around the room more carefully. Spotting a dresser, he half bounded to his feet from the bed before he caught himself, realizing that any sudden movements would jerk Bres right along with him. "Do you think there's any real clothing in those drawers?" he asked. "Just so, y'know, you don't have to deal with me in boxers until we get this figured out."

"I was just trying to be considerate. Geez. Since you got all upset over the thought of a drunken liason." Rolling his eyes, Hanuman gripped the chain close to the connection at his wrist and tried to twist it loose with a sudden jerk. That failed and only served to put a momentary ache into his wrist before his body quickly recovered. "Ugh, this sucks," he muttered and it was unclear just which aspect he was referring to.

He scratched his head again. "Okay, so your changing thing didn't work, my super strength didn't work, and I'm betting there's no bolt cutters around here so... Let's just try to get out of here and see if anyone else is around and if they have a key." Without waiting for agreement, Hanuman spun on his heel and started towards the door. His higher level strength belied his lean form and his movement actually jerked Bres after him to some degree.

Unfortunately, the doorknob didn't turn under Hanuman's hand. "Well... Fuck."

"Oh, knock it off. I'm just trying to get us out of here." Hanuman did not seem in the least bit concerned with either Bres' rage or his metamorphosis. Instead he simply jabbed a thumb at the door. "It's locked, man, and I just gave it a really good jerk. So, not only are we handcuffed together but we're also locked in here and that's going to get really old really fast."

With an agile squirm and twist that seemed to suggest he had no bones to speak of, Hanuman wriggled out of Bres' grip. He landed heavily and turned to glare at the other godling. "Chill the fuck out, Bres," he snapped. "This isn't my idea of fun either but the door is beyond locked and we're chained together so pull it together and help me come up with something useful."

"At least until we eat. Maybe the staff that brings us the food will slip up and say something that we can use. You never know. They can't all be jerks of the same level that Nigel is, right?"

"I like pleasant thoughts. They keep us less murderous." Absently, Hanuman rubbed at the cuff on his wrist. "I'm all for not killing each other and getting out of here with all our limbs intact. If we can set fire to Gaia on the way out the door, that would be okay, too. Ooo, that was wrong to say. Nigel, then. Can we set fire to Nigel?"

"Yeah," Hanuman agreed with a sigh. "They're probably pretty immortal and invulnerable. They probably also hold the key to this place so, like Nigel hinted, we don't want to piss them off." He tugged a bit on the chain and the movement had already become a thoughtless, automatic action. "So what do you out there in the real world then?" he asked suddenly.

"That's cool. I'm in college. Freshman at U of C, Berkeley."

"Not really sure," Hanuman admitted. "There's so many things that would be interesting and cool so I guess I'm more going at it from a what I'm not going for angle now. I'm not really into math or science so no business or pre-med for me. Well, no business from the analytic angle. Maybe from a human resources direction."

His ramble was interrupted by a polite knock on the door and Hanuman looked up. "Ah, bet that's breakfast. Guess we'll have to team up to get it, huh?"

"Always." Following Bres' lead, Hanuman stood and trotted over to the door. When the opened it, they found a tidy silver cart packed almost to overflowing with a variety of dishes, some of them covered by metal domes. A bowl of fruit immediately caught Hanuman's eye and he grinned with wry amusement. Then he looked around the hallway, trying to find whoever brought the cart.

"... Okay, that's weird. It didn't roll itself up here, right?"
