Summary: Bres and Hanuman must work together to escape..without a potential homicide.

While it had been strangely liberating to remain in Fomorian form for so long, not to mention the time spent with Mab during it, it was a relief to finally be able to change back to his Tuatha form. It gave him a greater sense of peace-of-mind..well more peaceful given Bres' constant fluctuating mindset. Lately his thoughts were on the things said between him and Mab when their traits were removed..it was a lot to consider. He'd spent a lot of time thinking about it the previous night before falling asleep in his study-chair, so his clothes, while casual, were not nightclothes. Wait..if he'd fallen asleep in his study-chair..then how the hell did he wind up in a bed? He opened his eyes and stretched, only to notice the chain attached to his wrist. "What is this?" And then he noticed the chain was attached to another body sleeping in the bed. "Hey, wake up! I need answers!"

Hanuman threw all of his weight and strength into the push, grunting at the effort. Unfortunately, nothing happened and he pulled his hands away and stepped back with a vicious curse. "Not cool, man. So not cool."

"I'll say." Hanuman took another small step back but stopped without thinking before he stretched the chain too far. He rubbed at the back of his head. Then he rubbed at his nose. Everything was feeling a bit twitchy and it wasn't just the energy and power flowing through is body. He paused, blinked, and rubbed at his nose again. Well, that felt different.

"Uh, hey, I can't see the mirror from this angle," he began, "so do you think you can tell me if I have a tail now or something. Maybe look like a big old monkey even."

Despite the situation, Hanuman broke into a huge grin and bounced a bit on the balls of his bare feet. "Wow, that's amazing. It's never happened before. I mean, I figured it was weird but thought maybe it was because of coming back all human for a while there but..."

He trailed off as if catching a shift in the air, the line of Bres' temper. He shrugged. "I should have always been a monkey," he explained simply. "But I didn't know if I was broken. Anyway, first things first. We want to get out of here and get unchained from each other." He lifted the chain and peered at it curiously. "It looks so normal but you can't break it and I can't break it and it seems rude for it to be so short."

"Probably," Hanuman agreed readily. "I've never been kidnapped before so you're the expert here. Does Gaia usually give us a check list or something that she wants us to do? Or is she doing this to get us out of the way of something else?" He looked around the room vaguely. "It's not a dive of a place at all but it's not somewhere I want to be trapped, no offense. I'm not seeing any neon signs pointing to a rabbit hole out of here, though...It doesn't make sense to just drop us here for no reason."

Without thinking twice, Hanuman spun around to look for the instrument. The chain between them gave a slight jerk but it did not pull Bres off balance, luckily. In fact, it seemed to have increased by a few precious inches.

In addition to the chain, Hanuman himself seemed to be receding back into his more customary face. Whatever energy had bubbled to the surface during the attempts at the door and the growling with Bres went back into chill-mode.

Pointing with his free hand, Hanuman indicated a small old-fashioned black phone on the one night stand. "Do you want to do the honors? Since you know Nigel?"

"Gotcha. I'll keep that in mind and be extra-nice. I'll even avoid using slang and I won't curse once." Despite his promise, Hanuman still pulled a wry comic face as he waited for Bres to move enough to allow him to get to the phone. Picking it up and bringing it to his ear, he felt strangely comforted that there was a dial tone, at least.

After he had tried a few numbers, however, he sighed. No outside lines, each one taking him to the front desk which he promptly disconnected. For the final time, though, he let it ring out and waited for this mysterious Nigel to answer.

"Uh, hey! Hi! I'm Javi, er, Hanuman... Yeah. Yes... Yes, I'm in a room with Bres... Oh, well, sure. He's fine... Yes, I think we both slept well... The thing is..." Hanuman trailed off as the man on the other end of the line clearly went into a monologue of some sort.

Finally, there was a pause and Hanuman rushed to fill it. "Yes, that's great and all but what we were really wondering is how can we get out of the cuffs and how can we get out of our room. Not that it's not a nice room and I'm glad you were so considerate about the size of the bed and the dresser drawers and all but... Uh huh... Oh... Okay."

Making a face, Hanuman hung the phone up again.

"Is he always a big old say-nothing douche-nozzle?"

"Oh, that sounds even more fun. I don't know if I should be grateful or pissed." Hanuman sighed. "He said they'll be delivering breakfast in a half hour, actually, and we should just make ourselves comfortable and get to know each other."

"I think he already figured we might try. He said something about us really not wanting to risk the repercussions of interrupting room service." Hanuman pulled a face and sat heavily on the edge of the bed. "Okay, so maybe breakfast will help our brains work better. Because, short of tearing the room apart to look again for a key, I'm out of ideas."
