Anubis smirked to himself as he typed 'Knock Knock' and sent the text to Hanuman. He pocketed his cell phone and knocked on Hanuman's door. Anubis should have been in LA, getting ready for the new semester of school to start. This would be very unexpected.

"Not really but, well..." Javi wrinkled his nose. "See, one of the things I do is protect. Hanuman, that is, me. I'm an ace retainer, a total bro-BFF, and all that. I kick ass for a cause, you know? I protect people that mean something to me." He studied Anubis' expression with a faint smile. "Did you read my story yet?"

"I did pretty soon after we met that first time", Mason told him. Thinking back on what he'd read, it started to make sense now. "I see what you're saying. Of course you'd still feel those same loyalties you had way back then."

"Those and more." Javi shrugged, laughing a bit, and then reached out to sling an affectionate arm around Mason. "The list's gotten longer, you know. You're on it, man. If you ever need anything, just ask, okay?"
