Summary: Hanuman finally gets a chance to take Mel up on her offer to visit. Way after the music festival. Whoops.


In all honesty, it probably was the furthest thing from what most people would consider a "normal" use of a long weekend off from school but Hanuman had never set much stock by the world's definition of normal or sensible. Everything worked out fine in the end, anyway, and it was important to have fun and embrace life and make friends. Those were really the key elements to a successful life. Sure, he had explained to his father, studying was in there, too, but he had been working very, very hard in his classes lately and it wouldn't make sense to overdo it. Besides his friend Mel had offered her place and he wanted to meet her kids.

He just neglected to mention how very friendly he and Mel were. Innocent omission, really.

Grinning from ear to ear, he adjusted the duffel bag thrown over his shoulder and lifted his hand to knock - a quick, rhythmic rat-a-tat-tat.

The door opened and two hands grabbed Hanuman by the face and pulled him inside. And then he was getting a nosy, on the mouth kiss.

When it was over, he might finally see that the thing that attacked him was Melpomene. She was grinning as she looped an arm around his shoulder, kicking the front door shut casually.

"Hi babycakes."

"Hey, Mel!" Using the arm closest to her, he pulled her against his side for a hug before turning to kiss the side of her neck. His grin threatened to approach mega-watt status at the welcome. "Sorry it took so long to visit but things got a little crazy there and I had to make sure I could come up without a problem."

"The point is that you've made it at last, lad," Apollo said cheerfully, striding into the room. "So glad you could come."

"Me, too. It's really great of you to be okay with me visiting like this." Hanuman's smile shifted to include the sun-god in its radiance. "And it's good to finally meet you. I mean, you're a famous musician and all that. Besides, Mel's told me tons about you."

"All good things, I hope?" Apollo chuckled. "But, come, you've had a long trip, I'm sure. Anything I can get for you?"

"Really good things, yep," Hanuman assured the other man as he delivered another squeeze to the Muse at his side. Then he gave due consideration to the offer. "Well, a drink would be great and I guess somewhere to drop my stuff if that's okay? Just so I don't knock anything over with it, you know."

"Here, gimme that." She just took his things from him, heading off into the house. "Go get settled, babycakes. I'll dump off your stuff."

"Yes, ma'am." His grin seemed to be perpetually locked into place and he watched her go for a moment before turning his attention back to Apollo. "So what's up? Do we have any plans for the weekend or are you both just putting up with me slouching around?"

"I'd never call it that. We're here to enjoy ourselves. In every conceivable way," the sun god said with a grin.

"Excellent! But Mel's probably told you that I'm really easy so I don't care what we do or when or anything. I'm just excited to be here and see Mel again and to meet you properly. I've head a lot about you."

"I'd say 'all good things', but you know how I don't like to leave out the best parts," Mel quips striding back into the room. She went and slid an arm around Hanuman's shoulder companionably.

"As long as they're all true things," Apollo laughed, moving in on the other side to make a Hanuman sandwich. "And I'm ready to prove them if need be."

"That sounds like a really big offer there." Hanuman laughed but made no objection to his sandwich-ing. Instead he glanced down in the rough direction of Apollo's trousers and chuckled again. "Mel talks a lot," he offered in explanation. "And she talks big."
