Summary: The desert has snakes--but not like this.

Carl didn't believe in monsters. Yeti, chupacabra, jackalope, and especially giant mythical snakes-- to him, they were all just the same products of fevered (or possibly drunk) imaginations.
True, there had been the disappearances, as well as that car in the ravine that looked like someone had taken the biggest can opener in the world to it. But to Carl, there was nothing out of the ordinary about that. After all, there were always a few hikers who took too many wrong trails in the Valley, and the car probably took a curve too fast.
Monsters. Man, some people will believe anything, he thought as he climbed into his truck. And as he closed the door, the driver's side mirror reflected the wide-open mouth of the snake behind him just as it struck.

Tyr had a sword in one hand and a military grade rifle in the other. He ran at the creature, coming down with his sword to try and pierce the skin. When convinced he got through, he brought the gun around to start firing in the wound.

"Well, doubt I can follow that speech," Seth muses, holding his mini-gun in hand. He looks back at Bastet and Astarte, "What's say we skip the speech and just slaughter this thing?" He brings the gun down into position and starts firing at the upper neck of the snake, careful to avoid shooting the Norseman nearby.
