Summary: Aphrodite is calling an all-pantheon council. Let's talk strategy.

Not everyone had come to lunch. That wasn't terribly surprising. Even in this house, it seemed almost no one was on the same schedule. Still, by now, most of them at least generally knew when Sif served lunch--at the very least, the smell of her cooking was a good tip-off. Still, afterward, Aphrodite waited in the formal dining room, hoping that a full strategy could be agreed upon.

"I can also donate capital, but I'll have to do it discreetly. My identity is still not known and I believe maintaining that secrecy gives us an advantage."

Aphrodite nodded.
"Of course. If that will provide the sufficient capital, the sooner we begin developing and testing weapons and defense systems, the better. However, we will need to ensure all of us and our troops have uniform and thorough training to use them. Who is willing to provide these services?"

"I remember all the training and skills I picked up over my lifetimes," Tyr informed. "Plus before the accident I was a Marine. I'm familiar with modern warfare, I could train them."

"I was built for combat. I could help. If nothing else, I am most familiar with security systems. I could develop and test them," Bastet offered.

"My knowledge of warfare is shaky, but I'm not bad with strategy. And, since we're so scattered, I could create a simulator to help with training," Ariadne said.

"I've already been training my troops. I will continue in their progress... and that of the others under our command," Triton said.

"I'm in too." All of this was her area, and at this point whatever Triton volunteered for, she'd join up too

"Very well, then. The five of you need to work together to develop a training program, and I'd like you to work closely with our weapons engineer to make sure everything is seamless," Aphrodite said, nodding in approval.

"All that said, we can't afford a war of weapons. We don't have the numbers to wage it. We also need to mount an offense of thoughts and opinions. We need to change the way the world sees us so that we aren't a threat. The altered literature will help, but we also need to work on creating our own... brand, if you will. Marketing ourselves as something other than the enemy. Persuasion is one of my gifts, and my identity is already public. I will be happy to spearhead the movement, but I can't do it alone. Who will help me in this?"

"I can help you, Callista, but I'd request it be a joint venture." Yes she was his friend, but that rebellious side of him could see she was really starting to monopolize guiding things around here.

"No one knows I'm anything other than a mild-mannered schoolteacher, but I'll see what I can do from the education side of things. Young people tend to be more accepting of progressive ideas. "No one knows I'm a godling either," Frigg informed. "Plus some zealots at Tyr and Sif's wedding saw me showcasing the fact I was Catholic. I may be able to learn more about Mimi's organization."

Sigyn just listened and nodded when Frigg talked. That was ... kind of what she was for. When even your divine provenance is Just Being Supportive, there's not a real lot of point in voicing new ideas.

Aphrodite nodded.
"I appreciate your assistance and look forward to working together with all of you. Each of us needs to contribute. A group effort, if you will," she said.

"And... one more order of business that I think should be reexamined... Last winter, we all received clues to important locations. As far as I know, no one has acted upon seeking them out. I believe now is the time to do that. These places are, I presume, meant for us and not humankind. It's possible they may provide a tactical refuge should things turn... unpleasant. Who would be willing to seek them out?"

"I would," Tyr volunteered. "Might as well put this glove to use," he says, testing the hand's grip.

"Can you do that and train troops at the same time?" Sif asked him, "I'd go, but... I probably shouldn't travel too far as we get closer to my due date." She lightly ran a hand over her swollen belly.

"I could do it." Hel spoke up for the first time. "I'm not overly wealthy but I'm not bound down to my job either."

"I do not see how our progress with our clues is any business that needs to be shared here." And here it comes. Mab has finally decided to have her say. "No matter the fact that we are required to temporarily close ranks -no thanks to the lot that decided to show off their godhood without bothering to think ahead- the fact remains, once all is said and done, we are all in competition. Best none of us forget that fact."

"Thank you," Aphrodite said, nodding to Hel, "If financing is required, I'm sure arrangements can be made."

Very calmly she looked to Mab.
"At this point, our survival is most important, regardless of our pantheons of origin. However, if you wish to name your scout privately, that is your prerogative. Either way, it must be done."

"From the message we received, it seems that will not happen until we are all in agreement with a comprehensive plan," Dite said in a tone that would brook no further argument.

She turned a warm smile to Hel.
"My dear, please don't think you must find all the locations on your own. We'll see to it that there is a team, or at least a network, working in tandem with you."
