Winter is putting footsteps in the meadow

She found little amusement in her forced choice of clothing. However, after much diligence she'd discovered something that she felt was passable. Feathers after all were a fraction more reliable than spider webbing.

And with her ill mood she'd taken herself away from the main house and come to the gardens. It was warm and bright and the flowers were in bloom. It did nothing to improve her temperament. In fact, the air in the small, almost secluded corner she'd come to, turned decidedly cooler, and the grass beneath her bare feet began sparkling with frost. She could admit quietly to herself that she reached out to coat a vibrant red rose in crystal clear ice purely out of spite, small as the revenge might be.

The endorphins must be getting to her, as she had not intended to reveal that. But, too late to take it back now. "I didn't throw myself at you that first time because I found you undesirable. My perception of you has changed little since then."

"Well, for the record, you were very desirable yourself."

"But not quite enough for you." She didn't seem offended by that fact.

"Only because I wanted to know the mind behind the undoubtedly stunning body," he half-teased. "I am very selective about the women I share a bed with. ..not that I'm implying that that is where this is going." He looks at her seriously. "Where is this going, Mab?"

"I am not against the idea of being your lover." Just the opposite in fact. "Is there more you desire?"

"I've never had a real relationship in my life. Every woman I've been with I've always been forthright with them from the start. I'm not asking for a permanent bonding from you either..but I am very fond of you. Despite my earlier..snit, I would not begrudge you seeing other men if you so wanted, but.." He looks her in the eye. "I would very much like to be your lover, but I also value you as a comrade..and even a friend," he confesses almost shyly. "I just wanted you to know that." He chuckles nervously. "I'll need to come up with a good one-liner after that much fluff."

"It's hardly bad for one's ego to see a man jealous over her." She was most definitely smiling a little about that. "But your expectations mirror my own. I have no desire to tie you down."

"You really need me to feed your ego," he teases, but there's no malice at all. "..that could actually be pretty kinky." He shakes his head. "I'd like to make a bold offer. Mab, would you like to share my bed for the duration of our stay here?"

Again she was surprised. It was indeed a bold proposition, and despite the train of the discussion, highly unexpected. It even stopped the sarcastic comment she had been about top make on his sexual pun.

So she was stunned for a moment while she processed, and then she looked at him seriously. "I would be amenable to that."

Okay, that time he had fully expected to get slapped or called out. But..wow..maybe he needed to stop at Vegas when they returned home.

He takes her hand, just holding it as words failed him. "Well..excellent."

Perhaps her cheeks had taken on a rosier color. Though she would not call it a blush. The Winter Queen did not blush. "You're getting dangerously overdue for that one liner," she said in a loud, almost playful whisper.

"Your gift for understatement is in no danger of degrading," he playfully whispers back.

"I should hope not. My talents only improve over time."

"Well, that's something to look forward to," he says before moving to kiss her again.

Oh good. She was hoping they would do this again. She met him halfway, not exactly masking her eagerness well.

This kiss..wasn't as tame as the last one. This time Bres put more passion into it, opening his lips more.

She welcomed his increased intensity and returned it in kind, her free hand coming up to rest on his shoulder so she might draw closer.

He found himself wrapping his arms around her, keeping her close as he continued to kiss her, breathing through his nose.

She gave herself over to it, just kissing him. She felt like she'd waited ages to do this, and well, she basically had. So despite their agreement to spend, at the very least, their remaining evenings doing such things, she kissed him like she couldn't get enough of him.

Well now, he hadn't expected THAT much passion, but he sure as hell wasn't going to complain about it. He held her closer, one hand caressing her hair while another rubbed her back.

The cool and controlled types were often rather passionate underneath, and Mab was not an exception. She denied herself many things, but when she decided to indulge she never did it half way. And the touch on her hair made her purr softly in her throat.

And he keeps caressing her hair, threading his fingers through it. SO caught up in what he was doing he ended up slipping onto his back. He ends up parting from her lips for a moment.

"Heh..sorry about that."

When he slipped to his back, she ended up half atop him, her hands braced on the ground on either side of him. The snow and frost had long ago began to melt away, as her mood had greatly improved. And she was actually, truly smiling down at him.

"I don't see the problem."

That causes him to smirk up at her. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised you like to be on top," he joked.

"No, you really shouldn't be." She grinned, leaning down and brushing her lips across his. "Though I might be persuaded to trade positions with you, every now and again."
