Summary: Frigg misses Apollo, and he hates to disappoint...

Apollo kept hoping that this would be the perfect distraction. He was still grieving the sudden loss of Urania. The night before, Erato had joined them, and he had cherished his time with his two remaining Muses. For today, at least, he had a promise to keep. Erato had promised to stay with Melpomene until Apollo returned, so he trusted they'd be safe for the time being. Or so he hoped. But, no, no... Best to just think about making the most of his visit to New York. Frigg was waiting for him.

He had only brought one bag, and carried it with him off the plane. He scanned the crowds to look for her. He was easy enough to find, he was sure. Even in a place as diverse as a New York City airport, the tall, blond, British glowing chap was hard to miss.

"Don't start second-guessing yourself," she scolded gently. "I did the same thing when Baldyr..died. Focus on those who are here, those who need you. I'm sure the missing are still out there somewhere, we can't give up on them."

"You're quite right, love. I still have two lovely Muses back home. And I have you," he said, a smile warming across his face.

She blushed, but waved it off.

"You're expecting twins, right?"

He nodded.
"Right. A boy and a girl. Julian and Laurel," he said fondly.

Frigg restarts the car and takes them back on the road.

"I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be insensitive or anything, but Laurel? Like in Laurel and Hardy?"

He shook his head.
"Laurel, as in my sacred tree. Eros once shot me with a golden arrow, making me fall for a nymph named Daphne. But, in his sport, he shot her with one of lead. I loved her; she despised me. So desperate was she to avoid me, she asked her father to save her, and she became a laurel tree. But that didn't break the spell. Only my heart. So, I swore that I would continue to love her, to always be her caretaker and make sure she would be evergreen and flourishing. That's why those who won in events in my honor were crowned with laurels. And why my daughter will be my laurel, as I love her and tend her and make sure she grows strong and beautiful."

"Ah..well this is awkward," Frigg said, pointedly focusing on the road now. "Sorry."

"Well, Melpomene chose her first name," he said.

She chuckles at that. "So why Julian for your son?"

"It refers to a youth. Another one of my domains," he explained.

"Ah, okay. Sounds like you've had more than just the Sun in your time."

"Why be limited? I was the god of the sun, of youth, medicine, healing, music, philosophy, prophecy, poetry, culture, archery, travel and the patron god of nomads, leader of the Muses and the nymphs. Even the wolves answered to me and my sister. I might even be forgetting a few."

"Well, no wonder you're so full of yourself," she teases.

"I wasn't Dad's favorite for nothing," he teased back.

She shook her, but smirked. "Were almost there."

"Good to hear it. What will you be in the mood for tonight, my dear?"

"I was going to ask you that. I'm the one cooking for you, remember?"

"Well, I'm always game for new things. How about something you grew up with. Whatever your childhood favorite was?" he suggested.

"Well, I make a mean bowl of pasta."

"In that case, I'll take the house specialty, by all means," he said with a smile.

"And if you want anything else, let me know. I'm going to pamper you," she said with playful finality.

"You are too sweet," he said, "How will I ever be able to repay such generosity?"

"You're a smart man, Guapo. I'm sure you'll think of something," she said as they pulled up to her apartment.

He quickly hopped out and went to open the door for her.
"May I, dear lady?" he asked gallantly.

She chuckles. "Oh I suppose I can let you do it this time."
