She is not a morning person. Without her alarm clock she would sleep at least until mid-morning naturally. And as that alarm clock was not there, she was sleeping soundly, curled on her side.

Apollo, however, was the original morning person, practically. In fact, without him, mornings might not have even existed as they were known. He woke up languidly, enjoying the comfort of a female presence beside him.

Then he opened his eyes and actually saw who it was. She... was definitely not one of his Muses. Something cool ached around his wrist. He lifted his hand, hearing the soft clinking of chain links, and bemusedly stared at the metal.

"...what the bloody hell happened last night that I'm forgetting?" he wondered aloud.

Without the nagging of an alarm, she wouldn't budge for some time on her own. She was meant to sleep during the morning, and that's exactly what she did, despite the fact that he spoke and not far from her.

She slept peacefully and unmoving on her left side, facing away from him. The blanket was pushed down to around her waist, revealing that she was indeed clothed in a white silk nightgown (http://www.victoriassecret.com/sleepwear/silk-and-satin/lace-applique-satin-slip-very-sexy?ProductID=5597&CatalogueType=OLS). The metal of the chain was obviously not any form of iron, because it lay about her exposed right wrist without marring or burning her. Surely if it was, she'd have woken up even before he did.

He didn't want to disturb her just yet, and he looked around the room. He had an odd feeling he knew this place. Oh, the room was new, surely, but the decor reminded him of the strange hotel. A place he hadn't seen in well over a year's time.

Experimentally, he tugged at the chain. It didn't even seem to register the stress. He doubted it could be broken. And it was fastened much too tightly for him to be able to slide his hand out through it.

Finally, he nudged his bedmate gently.
"Might want to wake up, love, They've done it again."

She barely stirred when he nudge her, merely a slight readjusting of her cheek on the pillow. The woman was just as immovable asleep as she was awake.

Hmm. Well, obviously that didn't work. Apollo paused. It... wasn't the most ethical method, he knew, but what if...? It worked in fairy tales, didn't it?

Slowly, he leaned over and kissed her, his lips warm and solid against hers.

Well she was a Fae. And it wouldn't have been the first time she'd awoke to such attention. She had spent nearly a week being both emotional and amorous with Bres. So to this she stirred, cool lips moving under warm ones, as she slowly woke. Her body and instincts getting there far sooner than her mind. Her eyes were even still closed.

Apollo let her hold the kiss for as long as she wanted, but didn't want to push his luck too far just yet, and pulled away slightly.
"Good morning, love," he murmured gently.

Love? No one called her that except...

She opened her eyes, and they were immediately glaring ice daggers at him. And then she slapped him.

"How dare you." She did not scream it or shove him or fight. Mab's rage burned cold, not hot.

He shrugged, otherwise unfazed by the blow. He was too used to Melpomene by now.
"Nothing else was working to wake you up," he said by way of an explanation. "I'm afraid the Others have struck again. This is not my doing." He gestured to the chains linking them.

"I highly doubt you exhausted all possible options before choosing that one." Shaking her would have worked just as well. Undignified, but effective. "Now get off of me."

"You didn't respond when I tried that," he said, but pulled back for as much space as the chain would allow. "Seems we're a bit caught here. And they're too tight to slip out of. Thoughts?"

"Hmph." She doubted he truly tried. But there were bigger things to deal with. She looked at the chain critically. "If there is something available to smash it with, I can freeze it into brittleness."

Apollo looked around. The room was beautifully furnished, but not many things that were good for smashing.
"What did you have in mind? Not a lot of hammers. And the artwork is all on the walls."

Her look was cool and unamused. "You asked for a suggestion. I gave one. Come up with something better if you're able."

He shrugged.
"I'm just noting the utter lack of makeshift hammers in this room. Still, looks like we might be stuck together for a while."

Not if she had anything to say about it. "I am not so quick to resign myself," she replied tersely.

Folding the covers back brusquely, she slid her legs off the edge of the bed. The chain clanked softly with the slight increase of tension. It made her look over at him haughtily. "I intend to rise."

"Have to take me with you for now," he said, following her, and acting as if oblivious to his lack of clothing.

"I am well aware," she commented dryly. Expecting him to follow as he must, she rose from the bed and strode across the room to the wardrobe. She did not even glance back at him, because she was fully aware of his state of undress. He had been over top of her after all, and she wasn't unobservant. She was simply refusing to acknowledge it.

Aware of the obstacle of the chain, she flung open the wardrobe, and efficiently, if a little impatiently, picked through the available clothing.

"You'd look smashing in that one," Apollo said, indicating an ice-blue wrap dress.

"When I need your opinion, I'll ask you for it." She chose something far different than what he'd suggested; a lace up pencil skirt (http://media.victoriassecret.com/product/380x507/V345391_093.jpg), a black halter top (http://www.victoriassecret.com/clothing/bra-tops/add-2-cups-halter-bra-top?ProductID=109107&CatalogueType=OLS), and matching underwear and heels. Her choices made she scanned for a bathroom, once her eyes latched onto the most likely door, she granted him one more acknowledgement. "I advise you to find your own clothing swiftly. I won't stand her all day in my night clothes waiting for you."

Apollo shrugged.
"I'll wait to dress until I've exhausted a few of our options," he said.

Her only response is a single, silent brow raise. Then she turns and strides to the bathroom, again expecting him to give her no resistance.

At the door, she eyed the length of the chain with a scowl. What was Gaia's game with this. Perverted, invasive creature. She would have to stand nearly on top of the door to have room to move. But there was no way she was simply going to change with him looking on. He could be pressed up to the door for all she cared for his comfort in the matter.

"What's wrong? Afraid I'm going to catch a glimpse of your charms? A bit late for that, love," he quipped.

Her response was to close the door on him. She had to push to get it to slid into place around the chain, but it did eventually wedge shut with the sound of wood grinding against metal.

Apollo just waited. Melpomene put him through worse on a regular basis.
"You do realize that really didn't change anything?" he pointed out when she emerged.
