Anubis smirked to himself as he typed 'Knock Knock' and sent the text to Hanuman. He pocketed his cell phone and knocked on Hanuman's door. Anubis should have been in LA, getting ready for the new semester of school to start. This would be very unexpected.

Mason laughed a little nervously, feeling flustered for a moment. He felt better when Javi started discussing the benefits of what Mason could do. "I know, right? That's what I've been doing, visiting a few more cemetaries, trying to get more of a range. I can come out any time, or bring you out to see me... or whatever." He gave a casual shrug of his shoulders.

"Whatever. Totally whatever." Javi rolled his shoulders back and tucked his hands in his back pockets before pivoting on his heel and surveying the tombstones around them once more. "So did you spend a lot of time here when you were in high school?"

The way he asked it held only pure curiosity. There was not a single ounce of judgement or condemnation in his words.

"As a kid in general, yeah. It's peaceful, quiet... Just always felt... comfortable here. I liked the sense of history, would wonder about the lives that the people in here led. Guess I was always more interested in the dead than the living."

"Is that still the case now?" Javi waited for a moment but didn't seem to require an answer if Mason wasn't up for it as he looked towards the scenery again. "It really is kinda pretty here. Tranquil. Serene. Quiet."

Mason smiled. "Sometimes. Though I've definitely met some more interesting people recently." Mason looked from Javi down to the ground to a moment, then looked up over the cemetery. "Yeah, it is. I like L.A., but sometimes I do miss it here a little bit."

"But now you can visit here any time you want to," Javi pointed out reasonably, "and it won't cost you an arm and a leg."

"Yeah, I can. I can visit here, can visit you... Lets of stuff I can do now. Speaking of, anywhere else you want to go?"

"Man, I don't know." Javi lifted his hands and laced them behind his head, stretching idly and again turning in a slow circle as he surveyed the flat landscape, so different than what he was used to. "Everywhere. Anywhere. I'm easy, man. There's so much out there that I haven't seen. I almost wish I could do the monkey thing again and just walk over entire mountains and stuff. Total seven league boots moments."

He glanced at his friend. "Where do you want to go? What do you want to do?"

"Believe it or not, I didn't plan ahead much more than this." He smiled sheepishly. "If we want a more comfortable climate, could just go back to L.A. for a little while. I could show you around. Or if you're feeling adventurous, we could go to the mountains."

"Up to you but..." Javi smiled crookedly and dropped his arms. "The mountains sound neat."

Mason smiled. "We could do the mountains. It's a great little place I found." He held his hand out to Javi. "Ready?"

"As I'll ever be." There's no hesitation as Javi takes Mason's hand, squeezing tightly.

Mason gave Javi's hand a squeeze back, then pulled them back into the shadows. This time, the chill seemed to remain when they emerged. The air was much cooler then even where they'd been before. When Mason exhaled, he could see his breath. This graveyard was quite small, the gravestones worn and old. They were at the foot of the Rockies, a very rural area, and there were only a couple of old buildings in the far distance. The mountains loomed over them.

"Wow." Hand still in Mason's, Javi's expression once more glowed with innocent wonder and awe. "This is... Oh, wow, this is beautiful. Sort of epic-ly beautiful. Wow."

"Yeah." Mason leaned over and gave Javi a kiss on the cheek. He took a moment to take in the sights. "Pretty incredible, right? I'm still doing some research on more places to try to get graveyard access to."

"Oh, yeah? What's on your list?" Javi twisted to return the affection and then released Mason's hand, striding out further into the lonely graveyard. He dropped into a sudden crouch and flattened his palm over a pitted stone. Intent, he studied the faded carvings even as his thumb idly traced one of the numbers still visible.

Mason watched Javi kneel and inspect the headstone. He let his hand settle on Javi's shoulder. "I'd like to get all over. All the way to New York would be amazing. And maybe down to New Orleans."

Javi looked up with a huge grin. "New Orleans? That would be so awesome! And that's where Baldr and Hel are so you could totally hang out with them, too." A thought occurred to him and he chuckled. "Or, hey, Mardi Gras, man. Mardi Gras."

"Mardi Gras, huh?" He chuckled. "Already making spring break plans? Or is that before spring break? I would like to get ins so I could get to my pantheon-mates quickly, if I ever need to."

"Good plan. Your group is kind of all over the place, aren't they?"

"Yeah, kind of. None are super close to me or anything. But I like travelling and this'll give me an excuse to get to know them again better, most of them anyway."

"It sounds like a good deal to me." Javi looked around the graves again and his palm once more ran over the old stone. His smile was a bit wistful as he glanced towards Mason. "I want to travel some day. I was thinking of some study-abroad programs. You know, go out and take classes other places and see other things but..." He shrugged a bit and then straightened. He stretched. "I don't think I can do it with this whole god stuff going on. I shouldn't leave the country. Can't leave Sita."

Mason cocked his head curiously at Javi's mention of Sita in particular. "What's going on there?"

"Huh?" Javi blinked, completely oblivious to any concerns about his choice of words. "What's going on?" he repeated. "Oh, well. I can't do what you do so, if I was overseas and something happened, it would be a lot harder for me to get back here."
