Summary: Aphrodite is calling an all-pantheon council. Let's talk strategy.

Not everyone had come to lunch. That wasn't terribly surprising. Even in this house, it seemed almost no one was on the same schedule. Still, by now, most of them at least generally knew when Sif served lunch--at the very least, the smell of her cooking was a good tip-off. Still, afterward, Aphrodite waited in the formal dining room, hoping that a full strategy could be agreed upon.

Aphrodite delicately cleared her throat. Already, she could feel the different synergies starting to crackle together. Very subtly, she sent out a damper on the ones that would incite the... baser urges of the group, hoping that would help keep everyone focused.

"Good afternoon, everyone, and thank you for coming," she said graciously. "As we're all aware, the only way we get to go home is by developing a comprehensive plan to protect ourselves and each other from the threats of those outside our group. We're all at equal risk, so I think we will all need to shoulder some responsibility in handling the situation. Does anyone have any ideas thus far?"

Athena leaned forward, glancing at Ariadne and her uncle briefly before speaking. "Ariadne and I have come up with an idea. It's not a full on strategy, just a piece to add," she clarified. "I'm a hacker, and I think I can get into the FCF'. I can highjack their newsletters, private emails, pretty much anything. From there we can keep an eye on them and also change somethings in our favor."

Ariadne nodded.
"Between the two of us, penetrating their systems won't be a problem. The real trick will be making the tampered literature undetectable in terms of style. If she's willing, I would nominate Erato for that task, since she is gifted in mimicry."

The Muse's eyes widened.
"Me?" she asked. "I... I can try."

Aphrodite nodded.
"It's a start. But we will need more than that. We'll need defensive items, and, at some point, I fear, offensive ones as well. Does anyone have thoughts on those matters?"

"I don't know about defensive, but if we need offense..well let's just say I have people who could help us there."

"Achilles has his troops," Erato reminded them.

"As do I," Triton said with a nod.

"How well-trained are these people, and how tight is their loyalty to our cause?" Aphrodite asked.

"Well, it's the United States Army, so they're pretty well-trained," Erato said, "But their loyalty is to Achilles and America. Not so much us as a whole, although they seem to trust me."

"I've been working with the recruits since March--some even before then. However, they have come from a wide range of abilities and training, and things are still somewhat uneven on that front at the moment. However, I do have their unswerving loyalty to the Sea Kingdoms," Triton said.

Athena nodded in agreement. "I've trained along side them for a little while now myself. They might not be 100% but loyalty they've got in spades."

"My guys aren't officially trained, but they're tough and they have access to good hardware and know how to use it," Seth added.

Dionysus cleared his throat, speaking up almost in spite of himself. "Uh...I might not have legions at my beck and call, but, well, I can call upon allies as well. And I know they'll definitely be loyal. Well, to me, anyhow." He looked down at the table at the last sentence.

Hades looked coolly down at Dionysus.

"If he's speaking of what I think he is, then I also can provide their unique services."

Dionysus' head snapped up at that. His eyes narrowed as he looked directly at Hades, and he sat bolt-upright in his chair. "That all depends on what you think I'm speaking of," he said.

"I'm referring to two of those wretched creatures you allowed to run wild, resulting in that travesty," Hades replied, unfazed by Dionysus' demeanor.

"Look, when all this is over, you and me can meet in an alley with baseball bats. Hell, I'll even give you the first swing. But right now, it's a matter of saving all our asses-- so can the recriminations, yeah?"
He paused as Hades' words sank in more. "And what do you mean that you can provide it too?"

"For your own health's sake, I wouldn't follow through with that. However, the point is made." Hades replies to the question: "I mean that two of the maenads are bound to my service."

Dionysus snorted derisively. "And I don't suppose you'd release them back to me," he said. "Still, if you and me can join those forces, it could help."

"Why on earth would anyone give them back to you when you can't control them --?" Arthur starts to say, then sighs. "But first things first. Ladies. If you can subtly change the information These People are circulating among their followers.... how are you going to change it? I mean, to what practical end?"

Hades didn't dignify the first statement with a response. "For the sake of mutual defense I can lend their skills with those serving you."

Hades looks at Arthur. "His Majesty has a point," Hades said with respect.

Aphrodite flared her soothing powers. She would not have this devolve into arguments.
"Gentlemen, please. We are all to work together on this. I'm sure the maenads, and their reclaimed forms as nereids and whatnot are useful. That said, they must be kept in control. They are not to harm humankind or its properties without specific orders to do so. Dionysus, Hades... and you, Triton, if your father is unwilling to do so, I am counting on you to keep things well in hand. We cannot risk being labeled as being even more dangerous that they are already touting."

She looked to Athena and Ariadne.
"I'm sure they have ideas already in the works. Ladies, if you would elaborate, please?"

Athena again leaned forward to address the issue. "The FCF is the mostly likely group responsible for the attacks we suffered, either directly or by heavy insinuation. We control their content, we control not only their actions, but we can preemptively respond as well. In fact, once I'm in, I can probably find their roster and branch out from there. Effectively, I can control their digital existence on a personal level. "
